Start a password reset. Send reset_url and Panelr emails the customer a link built from it (the token is appended as ?token=…, or replaces a {token} placeholder) — your page then finishes with reset_customer_password. Send nothing but the address and the token comes back in the response instead, for a site that sends its own email. An address with no login answers 404: show the visitor the same "if that address has an account, a link is on its way" message either way. An address with no account is answered exactly like one that has an account: same status, same fields, no error. Only reset_token differs, being absent, so a public forgot-password box cannot be used to find out who shops here. Nothing is emailed in that case.
