Updates install from inside your admin with one button. Your settings, customers and uploads stay as they are. Your licence includes a year of updates; see Your licence and updates.
Install an update
- When an update is out, a bar across the top of the admin says Update Available. Or open Settings → Backup & Updates → Updates and press Check for updates.
- Read what's new and press Install.
- Leave the page open while it checks your server, downloads, backs up the files it will change, installs and finishes.
- Press Done.
Only super admins can install updates. Visitors see an "updating" page for the few seconds the new files go in.
If something goes wrong
- A step that fails turns red and says why, such as disk space or folder permissions. Fix it and press Try again.
- If installing fails, your previous files are put back on their own.
- For seven days after an update, Go back to returns you to the version you had. Only the program files change; your data stays as it is.
